I was under the impression that there was a Ruby port for SkyOS because there are a couple references to it in the forum, but searching here and on google I can not seem to find a pkg for it (it definitely isn't in the iso). Could someone clarify the status of Ruby on SkyOS?

Thanks,
Steven

I ported it some time ago but I didn't really test it since I don't know Ruby... Someone reported that some modules were not working.

I made a recipe for factory and a package that worked on build 6179, but I didn't check if it works on build 6669.

recipe: http://nexornet.com/darkness/recipes/ruby-1.8.5.rar
package: http://nexornet.com/darkness/softwarest ... -1.8.5.rar

I also enabled it again in my softwarestore so you can reach it from in skyos when you go to "Darkness's softwarestore"

The recipe contains patches that are needed to compile it. The patches for config.guess and config.sub are actually just updates to newer versions of those files so they support skyos.

I highly recommend you take a look at this page to learn how to work with recipes and factory. It is not difficult and it makes things easy if you have problems and you can send your current recipe to someone else to reproduce things.

if you need help, you can always contact me, I am also on irc quite often.
