Did you burn the file as a normal file or did you 'burn iso image'?

that was the wrong way, since the MS burning program is really stupid.
You should get (a demo version is free) Nero Burning Rom, or EasyCD-Creator and use "File->Burn ISO image..." or something different.

after burning and re-inserting the cd, you should see more files on the cd than just the iso file.

when you select 'image' you select the .iso file and let it burn. When it's done, you'll see the new files.

It isn't possible. Theoretically it may be possible to do so, but no such utility exists.

Am I wrong, or does Partition Magic not do this?

You can shrink your ntfs partition and then create a new fat32 with partitionmagic. Then move your files to the fat32 partion. Then remove the ntfs partition and expand the fat32 to cover the whole drive.

Might be ways to convert to fat32 but never seen it done.

Doing that you have a lot of chance to kill you windows (2000 or XP)

I'll have to check for sure, but i think you can change a drive format with the administrative tools > disk manager in windows2000 and xp without reformating the drive.
