 Post subject: Want to try the beta, but have a couple of questions

1. I hate windows but linux is too much of a pain in the ass to maitain. Is skyOS easier to keep up and running?

2. will it run surround sound on my soundblaster live?

3. will the media player run divx, mpg, and dvd?

4. lastly when will gaim be availble?...this will not make me refrain from trying it out, I am just curious.

Yes, much easier to use than Linux. It's as easy as Windows, if not more.

Not at this time. SkyOS has very limited driver support.

Yes, the Media Player does all these things.

I would guess it would come out with SkyOS 5, but only the dev team can really answer this one.

couple of more detail...

1. will the dvd player have a problem with DVD's that are css incoded?

2. will I get any sound at allwith soundblaster live?


sorry for all the questions but I don't want to waste $30 bucks I am a poor student :wink:

as far as i know u will get sound just not surround sound....and about the dvd thing it might have problems but i havn't tested it
