Not sure if someone still visits this forum but...
It seems that SkyOS development won't go further.... SO do you think that the latest beta should be available for free ?

I don't know if simply making it available for free would solve any issues at this point. If, several years ago, when Robert stopped working on the project he made it available for free there might still be a user base. Sadly, that isn't the case now. I think the only way to rebuild that user base is for system development to continue - either Robert working on the project again or by the kernel being open sourced.

Why not. It could be fun for people to see what was done here, ages ago. :D

Btw, what happened to this project?

Well, turning it OpenSource would make a hell of a lot more sense if Robert is hoping for a rebirth with external teams. Look at BeOS; went proprietary and a decade later we have an alpha of Haiku since they had to start from scratch and make an OS that is more "inspired" by BeOS than actually related to it, just like MorphOS vs AmigaOS 4.x.
