Recently Rafael Rivera was busy implementing VMware Backdoor functions which now are available as the SkyOS Service "VMware Tools". When this service is enabled, you can copy/paste between SkyOS and your host OS by simply pressing CTRL+C and CTRL+V. Furthermore, seamless mouse transition is supported now. Just move your mouse outside the virtual screen region to automatically ungrab it. Moving it back into the virtual screen automatically grabs it. This service, if VMware is running, will be enabled automatically on the first boot in the next beta version.
Peter Speybrouck was busy working on the "Code Ransom Project: Weather Service". This service is responsible for fetching weather data and providing an easy and consistent interface for applications to use it. As you may or may not know, the panel (on the top of the screen) displays a sun/moon icon depending on the current time. This icon will be replaced with the current weather forecast for you city. This service will be available in the next beta version.
Lukas Linemayrs Subnecto is also almost finished. Here is a preview:
An inital version of the "D Language" is now available for SkyOS and the Developer Studio got a D Plugin and template.
In other news, many core changes have been made, like improved MTRR support, symlinks, loader changes and many more. Take a look at the changelog for a list of all changes.
Finally, we want to congratulate the Technoids Contests winners: Benjamin Angerer, Nils Heise, Christian Neubert which won a SkyOS Beta Membership.
